#PharmacyTechnicianDay
Happy #PharmacyTechnicianDay
Thank you for all your hard work in improving Patient Care.
You are making a significant impact within the NHS as they are proving to be valuable members of the healthcare team in the PRIMARY CARE SECTOR.
Some of the work completed by Technicians in Primary Care:
AUDITS
MHRA ALERTS
DOAC REVIEWS
BT MONITORING
RE-CALL SET UP
ECLIPSE / PINCER
DISCHARGE LETTERS
RX RE-AUTHORISATION
PRESCRIPTION ISSUING
SHARED CARE PROTOCOLS
HIGH-RISK DRUG MONITORING
CHRONIC CONDITION REVIEW CLINICS
IIF, QOF (RISK STRATIFICATION MODEL)
MEDS OPTIMISATION (COST-EFFECTIVE PRESCRIBING)
We can see how quickly the role of technicians is evolving in Primary Care.
We currently have two courses that are designed for technicians. One enables a technician to conduct DOAC reviews. The other course is the Accelerator course for Technicians which is ideal for those new to the sector & will enable them to process repeat prescription requests.
Training for technicians working in Primary Care is a relatively new space.
We intend to develop more courses in the near future.
